Yale University Library has completed The Theatre Guild Archive! It is housed–and the largest collection!–in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
The archive contains extensive manuscript, printed, visual, and audiovisual materials that document theater, radio, and television productions, from the selection of the play, director and designers, to the casting of actors, rehearsals, and performances. The archive, together with the Beinecke’s other theatrical holdings, is an exceptional resource for the study of the 20th-century American theater and cultural history.
You can read more about it on page 7 of the Nota Bene, the Yale University Library newsletter.
And to find out more about it, you can visit the Yale Library online–or better yet, take advantage of the long weekend go and visit the collection!
