Something amazing happened this month of February on Broadway:
Despite one of the coldest winters in 42 years—and the fact that nearly every day was significantly below freezing—the box office grosses went up 32% over January. Furthermore, this is a 10% increase over this time last year!
We would have thought on a night where the wind chill temperatures were in the negative double digits—people would have wanted to stay in and snuggle.
But oh no—they wanted to go to the theatre even more urgently!
This is a very good sign and ties in with a series of articles that we are soon going to feature about tourism and the attraction of living in New York City.
Stay tuned…and in the meantime, stay warm!
